I will usually give the 'offender' a couple seconds to see if they just forgot for a moment, or if they have truly lost their stamina, but I don't allow it to go on more than a few seconds! The idea is that if someone is not practicing the correct way, then essentially they are practicing the incorrect way and it is super important that does not happen! Now, if it is the same kid(s) breaking stamina over and over again, I will usually deal with them on an individual basis. Hope that makes sense!Lindsayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00602862050808502325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6297531381328727264.post-64332086854421211312012-06-20T20:23:35.272-07:002012-06-20T20:23:35.272-07:00Ok Lindsay, I have a question for you since you ha...Ok Lindsay, I have a question for you since you having been using this with kinders....
So when you introduce Read to Self and the kids begin practicing.... When do you call them back together (when the very first kid is off task?) or do you wait until a few kids start to lose attention?

I loved reading your post!
jeannie
Kindergarten LifestyleJeanniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07996519153170024853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6297531381328727264.post-80572857143527859672012-06-20T19:54:27.821-07:002012-06-20T19:54:27.821-07:00I LOVE the I PROMISE idea... can I steal it for my...I LOVE the I PROMISE idea... can I steal it for my room?
Way better than rules.
Mary
Sharing KindergartenMaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15357156666288108502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6297531381328727264.post-74221236489393766282012-06-20T19:12:29.071-07:002012-06-20T19:12:29.071-07:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Caitlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13389520299400019249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6297531381328727264.post-81453623841982514112012-06-20T19:12:13.852-07:002012-06-20T19:12:13.852-07:00Great post!! I laughed when I read how if you forget to go over the schedule, one of your students will remind you...SO TRUE for everything throughout the day!! I also love the idea of making class promises. I do this in my class, but I actually didn't do it until half way through the year when they needed a behavior reminder. I should start the year off this way because it worked great!!
